About
Who is the campaign for?
“Welcome to the Unaltered State” is for Idaho’s youth.
It invites them to come as they are; live a substance-free lifestyle; have the confidence and skills to reach out when they need help, not reach for a mind-altering or potentially deadly substance.
“Welcome to the Unaltered State” is for adults who care for youth.
It arms them with reasons and ways to help kids avoid substance use; and encourages them to listen with heart, love fearlessly and lead by example.
“Welcome to the Unaltered State” is for community builders.
Our kids need stronger community connections and access to healthy risk-taking. Their future and the future of Idaho depends on it.
The Unaltered State: An unprecedented approach
First and foremost, this campaign is rooted in love. We love our children and would do anything to protect them.
Past drug use campaigns have focused on the downstream effects of substance abuse - using scare tactics to dissuade youth from experimenting with or abusing the latest drugs. This campaign focuses on the upstream approach. Our kids need stronger connections within families, schools, and communities to help prevent them from turning to substances.
We’re asking adults:
“How can we make Idaho the best possible place for kids?”
